HTC Bringing BlinkFeed & Zoe Gallery To Other Android Devices

HTC Sense software is what HTC has become known for , but it seems the Taiwanese phone manufacturer is taking its custom software to a whole new plateau – they’re taking their core applications to Google Play. This will allow HTC to release updates and new features to its phones without having to go through the arduous process of rolling out a system update to individual handsets.

While this will allow HTC device owners to get access to new features a lot quicker, this will also open the door to offering tibits of their software to devices not manufactured by HTC. Hidden within the HTC One (M8)’s official press release, HTC revealed that BlinkFeed will soon be made available to a broader range of devices. It’s not clear if BlinkFeed is a full launcher replacement or just a standalone app or widget that will be added to the home screen.

Zoe in the cloud
In 2014, HTC’s unique Zoe™ feature will evolve into a cloud-based service, enabling Zoe Video uploads for all to see, along with the ability to invite friends and family to add their own photos, videos and music to the original Zoe video. Incredible highlight reels of classic moments are even better when the creation is shared. The new Zoe app will be available for download through Google Play this summer.

Following its popularity with HTC users, HTC will now make HTC BlinkFeed available to other Android devices, launching on the Google Play store soon.

But HTC is not stopping there. According to The Verge, HTC is also bringing the HTC Zoe app to other Android devices as well. It does seem a bit strange for HTC to be allowing their software on non-HTC devices, but HTC may be able to pull in new customers when they’re able to experience a slice of HTC’s UI vision.
