Ubuntu-Android Dual Boot Developer Preview Now Available

If you’ve wanted to try Ubuntu Touch OS without losing all your necessary Android features and functionality, you might be excited by some recent news from Canonical. Earlier this week, a dual-boot Android Ubuntu OS was made available to download for developers, giving you the best of both worlds and the ease of switching between the two OS platforms.

With dual boot, switching between OSs had never been easier. No more key combinations or command line interfaces to jump into the next OS: on each side, an app with a simple user interface will enable you to boot back and forth at the tap of a button.

The dual boot OS should work with most of the recent stock Android devices, including Nexus 4 , Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and the Galaxy Nexus. If you’d rather play it safe and wait, Ubuntu should be coming pre-installed on an upcoming high-end smartphone, but they’ve been pretty hush-hush on when we will see this rumored device.
