The mobile tools team at Xamarin have been feeling the pain of using Google’s Android player. That’s why they’ve announced their very on Xamarin Android Player which is part of their Xamarin platform.
Some of the neat features in Xamarin are the native interfaces for OSX and Windows as well as the ability to drag and drop APK files into the player to run them.
Current Xamarin subscribers get the runtime for free. Although it currently only supports only a single form-factor at the moment the guys are promising a great deal more options as well as “a few nice surprises”.
