Lenovo hinted yesterday to announcing something big today at 1pm EST. We now know that the announcement is none other than the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+. This device takes many cues from the previous Yoga Tablet 10, keeping the Yoga branding at the forefront of Lenovo’s tablet offerings.
The HD+ in the name refers to the new 1,920×1,200 full-HD resolution screen, up from the previous 1,280×800 display. The processor has changed to from a 1.2GHz Mediatek CPU to a 1.6GHz Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 400, which will certainly provide a more fluid and stress-free multitasking experience. The YOGA Tablet 10 HD+ also comes equipped with a 8MP HD rear camera, perfect for snapping those life-changing moments.
“Customers have told us they love the YOGA Tablet for its clever design that gives them a better way for all the different ways they use tablets,” said Jeff Meredith, vice president, marketing, Mobile Business Group, Lenovo. “Now we’ve created the new YOGA Tablet 10 HD+ to give consumers the ultimate multimode tablet experience, packing it with premium technologies from a gorgeous screen to faster processor to user-centric software.”
If you are unfamiliar with the original Yoga Tablet 10, it offers three modes of operation for different usage types — Hold, Tilt and Stand — which vary depending on how you swivel/position the device. The Yoga Tablet 10 HD+’s cylindrical battery allows you to comfortably hold the tablet while reading the latest news on the web browser, or you can try Tilt Mode for viewing the latest blockbuster movies on your desk or table. If those two options don’t excite you, you can always pop out the kickstand from the tablet’s battery cylinder to position it in Stand Mode. Stand Mode will give more stability when watching a movies, giving you an upright position from between 30-80°.
