Acer is beating out it’s competitors in the CES 2014 hustle by announcing on Friday it’s newest low-end Android tablet, Iconia A1-830.

This 7.9-inch Android tablet, with a 1024 x 768 IPS technology display will come packed with an Intel Atom (Clover Trail+) Z2560 1.6GHz processor, 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM, 16GB of internal memory (expandable to 48GB with microSD slot), 2MP rear/1.6MP front camera, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and stereo speakers.

What is disappointing is that this tablet will have an expected 7.5 hours of battery life, which you’d expect to be slightly more elevated in an entry-level tablet from Acer. Also, the fact this tablet features Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean (released in late 2012) begs to question which demographics they are trying to attract with this device.

You can expect to find the Iconia A1-830 in North American retailers this quarter, with an expected price of $149-199.
