The Chinese manufacturer, Oppo, has now added a mid-range smartphone to their line of devices called the Oppo R1. The Oppo R1 is the cousin to the more powerful high-end device, the Oppo N1, which was just recently launched in the North American and Europe markets. We have yet to find out if the R1 will be offered to other markets other than China. If the device is seen as a success, it may very well be offered by at least one North American carrier.
Here are a few key features of the R1:
- Runs Color OS (based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean)
- 5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels (294 PPI)
- 5MP front-facing camera
- Quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz
- 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory
- Weighing 140 grams and measuring 142.7 x 70.4 x 7.1 mm
- 2,410 mAh battery
The R1 can be ordered as of now, unlocked, from Oppo’s Chinese web store, costing about $410 (2498 CNY).
Not sure how I feel about it…still think the N1 is a much better product from Oppo
Yeah, the N1 is def the better phone. This one will prob be appealing to those on a budget.
