Nomad (the company behind the ChargeKey) has announced today that they’ve started taking pre-orders for their latest product NomadPlus, a 1,500mAh external battery pack that’ll charge your iPhone when coupled with Apple’s official power plug. The gadget doesn’t provide a full charge (you’ll likely get 70% charge on your iPhone 5S), but logically, it will also recharge its own battery when plugged in.
There is many other options out there that may provide a more robust solution, but we feel that Nomad’s DIY strategy is not just effective, but also budget minded. The NomadPlus is available for pre-order at a cost of $39 ($20 if you use the code “nomadplus” within the next few days), so think is a no-brainer for those of you who don’t want to be wall hugging iPhone users.. You can expect the NomadPlus to start shipping in November, with plans for a UK & EU model forthcoming.
